Today was the Premier Invitational XC Race, and it was my first XC race. I was reeeeally anxious about this race but I learned a lot from it. A couple hours before the race I ran a mile with the team and ten minutes before my race we ran another mile. I definitely should have warmed up at least another mile and ran some strides before the race. The uphill at the beginning was pretty difficult but I tried to pass as many people as I could. My time for this race was 21:43. I think that if I had warmed up more I could have gotten a faster time. The best thing about this race was that everyone on the team was very supportive of each other and cheered each other on!!! Including the warm up, race, and cool down I ran 8 miles this morning.
Tonight I went on an 8 mile run by myself to complete my mileage for the week. At first I felt kind of sluggish but after 3 or 4 miles I had a pretty enjoyable run. |
